On March 11, 2004 the House Education Policy Committee again passed this bill and referred it to the House floor. An unsuccessful attempt was made by legislators supportive of comprehensive sexuality education to refer the bill to the Education Finance committee to further look at the fiscal impact on school districts.
H.F. 580 did not come up for a vote on the House floor before the end of the session. A companion bill in the Senate was never introduced.
